PIXresizer is a simple program that resizes images and outputs them as GIFs, JPEGs, PNGs, TIFFs or BMPs. It is an especially helpful resource if you want to change a photo's dimensions for use with a specific program or website.
To use PIXresizer, you install the program, open the main window and select your source file. You can lock the width and height of your picture, stretch it, compress it or cut out part of it to make it fit the new dimensions. However, you don't get very advanced tools for selecting the cut portions of your images. If you're going to cut out part of the file, you're better off using another image editing program for the task before you start up PIXresizer.
After selecting your source file, you select a file format, size and a few other options, then click "Save Pictures" to let PIXresizer do the rest of the work. The program works very quickly, saving your pictures and presenting you with a simple "All done!" message when it is finished. You can then open your output file to check your new images.
PIXresizer has a few advanced features that make it more useful. You can output images in black and white, save EXIF data and see a preview of your files before you save. We wish that the program would support more formats, but it's still a capable for most purposes. It even supports batch conversions.
This program is completely free and extremely small, so if you're looking for an easy way to change the dimensions of an image without losing quality, this is the perfect application for that purpose. If you've already got a decent photo editor installed on your computer, however, PIXresizer is a bit redundant.
PIXresizer is a program that is designed to allow you to resize and convert simple photos easily. When it comes to people who have used this program, the only downside to it is the fact that it looks rather old-fashioned. However, there are a number of features that it provides that make it well worth using. You can not only change the format of your pictures, you can also choose what size you want them to be displayed in. The interface is extremely easy to use, and you can choose to process a single photo or a whole batch of photos at any given time.
